Thank You for Nothing
It's common for riders to thank the people who have helped them along to way. Without help from family, friends and sponsors, racing competitively (if at all) would be nearly impossible for many. It takes a lot of effort and more than one person to make it happen. Along the way there have been countless people that have been supportive and helped me accomplish what ...

Nashville .. Ugh ..
It looks like we're going to have to make the trip to Nashville this upcoming weekend after all. Iniitally planned as a round we (and just about everyone else) would skip because it's not really in the region, the way the points lay out right now, we've basically gotta go. We'll be driving all the way down there to basically run one race ...

AMA Roadrace Grand Championships
With the AMA/WERA Grand National Championships at Mid-Ohio coming up in a couple weeks, it's basically the big finale to the season. It's the last points-paying round on the schedule and each race is for a National Championship. The Horizon Award is given out, and there is plenty of tough competition to go around. As part of the special event, each organization (WERA, CCS, ...

Spectator Feedback
Congrats Eddie on your racing at Grattan .... taking away 3rd on the last lap coming out of the bowl into the sweeper - very heads up. Also, I remember a pass you put on someone on the outside in 10a and still held your line through 10b onto the straight for position. You were so precise coming onto the straight.... everyone ...

Grattan’s Response
From Sam:Thank you for your input, saftey is always our main concern when we do any improvement. The resurfacing will not change any or the run-off areas. Our areas that are guard railed can't change due to the property lines or driveway. We will always attempt to maintain a safe and enjoyable facility. PS Will try harder on the restrooms.I've always liked Sam. Straight up ...

Letter to Grattan
Hey Sam,I was just reading this article on Roadracing World, where they talk about Mid-Ohio and Road Atlanta since they've been repaved:http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article=29870The article made me think of Grattan. I've heard talks of a possible repave of the track this fall/winter, and while that sounds great - do you guys have any thoughts on how run-off will be affected? Surely the track will become faster ...

Monday Morning Grind
Gina and I went out to Grattan this past Saturday, participating at an Apex 2 Apex track day; a company run by fellow racers Brent Bennett and Eric Spector. They had a good turnout and ran a really smooth program, especially considering they just started running track days this year. Brent had the whole family involved. Dave (his brother) was changing tires. His ...

Monday Morning Grind
My dad and I got back from the dyno last night, after James had finished freshening up the motor. We didn't end up with any more horsepower (actually a touch less), but given the bike has new gaskets and rings, breaking the motor in on the track may help free up a bit more there. James also tried some different cam timing, which may or ...
