Monday Morning Grind
Gina and I spent Saturday at Richard Harris' place, as he had people over for a BBQ, some gaming, a bonfire and camping. Strangely enough, this was actually Gina's and my first time camping together. We pulled out the tent from my parent's house that my brother and I used as kids. I thought something surely would be missing or broken after all the years ...

Monday Morning Grind
My dad and I went to Grattan yesterday to watch the WERA/AMA National races. I had thought last year's record breaking times were a fluke. That was definitely not the case. Rob Jensen further dropped the lap record on a 600 down to a 1:18.930, significantly bettering Brent's (Bennett) record last year of a 1:19.589. The quality of riders present was ...

Two-Day STT Mid-Ohio A Success
Just got back from Mid-O last night. I think we sorted out the tire wear issues, which is a big step and the main reason for going to Mid-O in the first place. Some clicks here and there, plus some tire pressure changes and we had a new rear tire that looked great after three hard sessions on it. We now have some minor handling issues to ...

Vacation to Ohio for a Week?
What? That's what I said to myself, but that's basically what we're doing. My dad and I are heading to Mid-Ohio Monday and Tuesday, and then Nelson Ledges Friday through Sunday. With Wednesday being the 4th of July, it almost makes sense to just stay down in Ohio for the entire week, but we'd rather not do that. We'll be coming back for a little over ...

Monday Morning Grind
Gina and I went to Grattan this past weekend for a relaxing weekend at the track, hanging out, and generally not having the busier schedule that comes from a typical race weekend (nice for a change). In not having ridden in the clockwise direction in some time, it was nice to get up to speed and be able to drop a second consistently from my best lap time ...

Quiet Times
Not much going on right now. I spent part of Father's Day weekend working on the bike with my dad. Just some minor things, including the fitting and prepping of a new Sharkskinz tail onto the bike, before sending it out to get painted. We also prepped a nearly new gas tank to replace the one currently on the bike, which was also damaged from the ...

Slippery When Wet
Looks like it's going to be a wet one at BeaveRun this weekend. Weather forecasts are pretty much calling for showers at some point Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I'm a bit bummed as we spent a lot of time on the bike this past week, and I really wanted to test the shoulder and try to go faster than the last time we were there. We did ...

Six Weeks!
Six weeks never sounded so good. After seeing Dr. Ciullo yesterday - looking at x-rays, doing various range of motion exercises and some other doctor-type stuff with both shoulders, he told me that all I have is some bad bruising and potential tissue damage. Nothing is seriously damaged and everything should heal on it's own within six weeks - definitely good news and a welcome relief ...

The Good and the Bad
The good news: This past weekend at Grattan, we went faster than we've ever gone before. The bad news: I crashed and could/should have gone faster.More details to follow ..

Counting Down the Clock to Counter-Clockwise Grattan
Aside from putting on a new sprocket, we're ready to go this weekend for Grattan. My dad, Bob, Doug and I will be there Friday morning for practice with Sportbike Track Time - an event I'm helping out at. The bike is just about ready, the trailer's packed and everything else is pretty much set. Hopefully the weather will be sunny and warm this weekend ...
