Monday Morning Grind
We just had the second round of our GLMMRS series yesterday. It continues to grow and bring in new faces from different racing backgrounds. It's really pretty cool. We have a combination of roadracers, motocross guys, flat track guys - many of which are some pretty talented and well known names. The competition is really tight in all of our three classes, and it's ...

The Approach
Racing is an approach. It's a mindset. It's not just the act of doing; or of competing. It's much more than that. There's an adage about a racer's participation in roadracing lasting two years on average. After two years, it's over. And there's a lot of truth in that statement. There are a variety of reasons behind why so many start and don't stay. Money ...

Monday Morning Grind
While I haven't talked about it here, it still bears mentioning that Nicky Hayden won the MotoGP title. I couldn't believe Valentino crashed early on in the race, essentially deeming Nicky the champion right then and there. I do think Nicky could have pushed from third and gone to the front if he had to, but he knew after Rossi crashed he didn't need to ...

Vegas to the MAX
I'm here for work in Las Vegas attending Adobe's MAX Conference this week. It's my first time to Vegas strangely enough, as I've missed a good 3-4 bachelor parties here, due to racing. The conference is at the Venetian which is nothing short of an amazing hotel. Scratch that, just about everything on the strip here in Vegas is pretty much amazing. It's sensory overload in ...

Fast Times Never Cease
I thought that once the race season was over, I'd have some time to relax. As Gina can attest, that's hardly been the case. Between spending a bunch of time getting our fifty race series ready for it's third season, working to pay off the credit card tab from this past year, and already focusing time on sponsorship plans for the '07 season, life's ...

Nicky Hayden Post Race
Here are two videos. The first is a post race interview with Nicky. The second is a reshowing of Pedrosa taking him out. Thanks to J.B. for the links:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QirRto6RbMhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KA6hmepO5yoIf watching the first video doesn't make you pull for Nicky this weekend ..

Monday Morning Grind
Man Nicky got hosed. For anyone who didn't watch or hear about it, Dani Pedrosa took his teammate (and at the time, current MotoGP championship leader) Nicky Hayden out in lap 5 of the GP race yesterday. It was gut wrenching to watch. Nicky was running third, chasing down Rossi and Edwards early on, when Dani went in too hot behind him, lost the ...

Fresh Look
As you can tell, there's a new look to the Fast48 site. Dubbed version 2.0, the "Speed Remix" - the idea and attempt was a cleaner design aimed at being a little more organized; presenting more information in an easier to read format. Hopefully you guys (and gals) agree. A few kinks are still being worked out. If you experience any weirdness/issues or have any general feedback good ...

Already Waiting For Mid-Ohio
Now watching the AMA Supersport race for the third time, I'm ready to go back. Looking at the fastest lap times of each rider during the race, dropping a couple seconds from my end would put me in a fairly respectable position (in theory). Of course there's a lot more to it besides just dropping the time, but with my limited experience at Mid-Ohio, there's ...

Nelson Safety Fund Wrap Up / Quote
We raised over $4000 for Nelson Ledges, quadrupling our initial goal of $1000. There was huge support from people across the racing community, except for the few "National" riders who voiced their opinions loudest and refused to race. I'm not sure if those riders feel they're "above" contributing or what; I hope not. A number of AMA riders contribute to the air fence fund and donate money in other ways ...
