Monday Morning Grind
Wow, what an X Games over the weekend. I haven't been a huge X fan in the past, but once I happened to catch Pastrana's double backflip early in the weekend, I was glued to the television, especially on Sunday. I thought all the events were great - the BMX and skateboarding stuff was cool. The newly added rally car racing (with the likes of ...

Monday Morning Grind
Above is Jonas (McCluskey) and I from the last WERA round at Nelson Ledges (picture courtesy of Speedy Pete). We were pretty much nose to tail in all three races that day which was a good time.Jonas is heading to Mid-Ohio this weekend for the AMA race. Best of luck to him and Aaron (Bagwell, ...

Monday Morning Grind
Nicky wins the Red Bull MotoGP race for the second year in a row at Laguna Seca. Rossi had a mechanical DNF and Pedrosa finished 2nd, sliding into the #2 spot in the championship, 30+ points behind Nicky. Overall it was a good race to watch but simply put, no one can compete with Nicky come race time at Laguna. As for us, we're getting the ...

Racing Excuses – The List
For those who know me or have been reading, you know I'm not a big fan of excuses. I became so tired of hearing them, I started a list of all the excuses I've heard in my days of racing. I had some help from the WERA community as well, filling in some I had missed. What originally was to be a list of 50 grew ...

Mystic Visions and Laguna Dreams
I'm taking my dad (Joe) to the airport tomorrow morning as he heads out to California for the highly famed weekend at Laguna Seca for the MotoGP race. He's pretty stoked to go, and with good reason. I'm excited for the race and I'm not even going. The premiere motorcycle race series coming back to America ... to hear those 200+ horsepower machines in action, slicing through ...

AMA Pro Racing Legalizes Traction Control
I don't know what's more suprising - that the AMA fully legalized traction control, or that they came up with the final ruling on this so quickly.I'm certain Ben Bostrom and Neil Hodgson of the Ducati team are excited about the news, as they can now run the same traction control system Troy Bayliss is using in the World Superbike series - a system that was ...

Six Seconds
The bar was raised this past weekend. After seeing yesterday's lap times from the National races, we've got to find six seconds. There were fast laps all weekend; from the 6-hour endurance race on Saturday, to the National sprints that went on yesterday. The combination of great weather and fast riders made for an above-average increase in speed across the board, not to mention a new ...

Kushitani Leathers Arrived
The new leathers arrived and they are awesome. The fit, color scheme, patches and everything are perfect and were definitely worth the wait. I think after racing for a few years and having your previous leathers held together by safety wire, duct tape and zip ties, getting a custom-fit suit is a ...

Kushitani Leathers to Arrive
After some delays in the ordering process, the Kushitani leathers I ordered are due to arrive tomorrow, right before we head to Ohio for the WERA round at Nelson Ledges this weekend. If you've noticed in recent pictures, I've been wearing temporary leathers from Kushitani the past couple of races. Mike from Kushitani sent me a suit to wear while I waited for mine to be finished, ...
