Mid-Ohio, More Rain
Quick recap - wet morning. Two practice sessions. I highsided in the second session (not a big deal, but it was one of those weird crashes). So James and my dad busted their butts to get the bike ready to go for 750 qualifying, which was less than an hour away (rearsets and exhausts were the main parts needing replacing). We had the bike re-tech'd by ...

Mid-O, Autumn is Here
Cool weather and sketchy rain conditions presented themselves both today and yesterday. I started off practice Thursday morning in the 1:40 range (second time to the track, first on the new pavement) and ended up getting into a high 1:34. James, my dad and I were pretty happy with the progress.Today went well except for the sketchy rain conditions. I dropped into a low 1:34 range early ...

A Wet and Oiled BeaveRun
Dave, Eric (Johnston) and his wife Michelle and I made the trip to BeaveRun this past weekend, along with Tom (Rubin) and his girlfriend Jen. The weather was looking sketchy for Saturday, but we thought we could get some good racing in on Sunday. For some reason, this event wasn't on the North Central schedule, but we liked the track and wanted to ride there ...

Monday Morning Grind
Grattan went pretty well. It was a good weekend, although I didn't drop as much time as I needed to. We changed a lot of things on the bike and it seemed to help, although it will be easier to tell when running Grattan in the normal clockwise direction, where I have a lot more laps and can give better feedback on the bike.Friday and ...

Monday Morning Grind
Not too much to recap from this past weekend at Nelson. Wet weather Friday and Saturday with a 3rd place finish in the Middleweight solo race. Sunday was dry, but I was having some issues getting to the times I had done the previous race weekend where I was closer to the front of the pack, so a minor set back in that regard. We're off ...

Brighton Superbike Goes 2 For 2
in 3-Hour EnduranceDarren, Joe and myself met up Friday afternoon and started our trip to the Ohio area in preparation for our second crack at Fasttrax's 3-hour endurance race. We didn't have Jim as our third rider, and we didn't have Pirelli as our tire supplier of choice. To make a ...

The Click
It clicked. Finally. It only took until July. What was it? The bike? The rider? Well, it was both. The two finally ... well, clicked. No, it's not the click where I'm suddenly winning races. That's far too bold, naive and presumptuous to say against the ...

Saturday Recap From Nelson
We're here at the Holiday Inn near Nelson Ledges after a good outing today in the Middleweight Solo 20 race. My dad and I have been here since Friday working on getting faster and things are going well so far. With a previous fast lap of 1:11.7 during the last race weekend here a couple months ago, we were able to really drop in some quicker laps, setting a best ...

Quick Grattan Recap
The weekend was a bit of a flux of highs and lows. The weekend progressed slowly, but we had a really good morning practice on Sunday where I set some of my quickest times overall, while not pushing too hard. James and my dad were both helpful in pointing out some areas I could work on specifically in each session I went out in. A couple ...

BSBK Wins 3-Hour Endurance
In the extremely hot 90+ degree heat of Garrettsville, Ohio, Team Brighton Superbike was able to win their first endurance race of the year at Nelson Ledges this past Saturday. Running with the Fasttrax series, Jim Cottrell, Darren Womack and myself ran the three-hour race with James helping run things in the ...
