AMA Mid-Ohio Weekend Schedule
Here's the AMA schedule for this weekend at Mid-Ohio. It looks like we get one 40-minute practice on Friday, and a 30-minute practice on Saturday. Sunday consists of a 20-minute practice/warm up before the race, which is just before lunch.Weather predictions still look a bit shaky. Rain appears to be a reappearing possibility, with slightly colder temperatures throughout the three days. It should be a ...

Mid-Ohio Wet Setup Dialed In?
If it rains this weekend, I think we've got a good wet setup. I never looked at Saturday morning's wet practice times until today, but we were right there at the top. Second fastest and the fastest overall in each group respectively. We made a gamble and didn't run that setup in the wet race later in the day, but we'll be prepared this time ...

Mid-Ohio, We Made It
We did it. We made the top 20 in the AMA Sports 600 Shootout, which means we get to go back to Mid-Ohio this weekend for the AMA Superbike finale, which I'm really excited about.Overall we finished 11th, after qualifying a lowly 19th (see Friday post for details). I *finally* had a decent start and moved forward throughout the race. I'm a bit disappointed that ...

Mid-Ohio, More Rain
Quick recap - wet morning. Two practice sessions. I highsided in the second session (not a big deal, but it was one of those weird crashes). So James and my dad busted their butts to get the bike ready to go for 750 qualifying, which was less than an hour away (rearsets and exhausts were the main parts needing replacing). We had the bike re-tech'd by ...

Mid-O, Autumn is Here
Cool weather and sketchy rain conditions presented themselves both today and yesterday. I started off practice Thursday morning in the 1:40 range (second time to the track, first on the new pavement) and ended up getting into a high 1:34. James, my dad and I were pretty happy with the progress.Today went well except for the sketchy rain conditions. I dropped into a low 1:34 range early ...

Departing for Mid-O
We're planning on leaving for Mid-Ohio around 5:00 later today - maybe even earlier if we finish loading up sooner than planned. The AMA put out a recent newsletter with some added info leading up to the big weekend. It lists our team entered in the Team Challenge, along with other stuff on the festivities planned. It should be a great time - even with somewhat sketchy weather predictions. If ...

Monday Morning Grind
And what a grind it is today. I could barely get up this morning and I think today's going to be a long day. After listening to a bunch of music over the weekend and copying some of it over to my Zen, I can't help but tie the two together this morning with the lyrics of Oasis echoing in my head; "Need ...

Nelson Safety Fund Update
The response has been great so far - we've raised over $3000, tripling the initial goal set out from the beginning. The new goal is $4000 and donations will be accepted through Monday, September 25th. Sportbike Track Gear has volunteered to give away a pair of race gloves ($220 value) to one of the donators, who will be picked once this is over. Thanks again ...

Nelson Ledges $1000 Fund
20 people x $50 donations = $1000. It won't cover everything, but it's a start. If you're concerned about track safety for racers and want to help, please see the following link:http://forums.13x.com/showthread.php?t=119939Thanks,- eddie

Monday Morning Grind – Nelson Unsafe?
The WERA Nelson National was held this past weekend, amidst high levels of controversy. The big story was Robert Jensen and the Vesrah team electing not to ride, due to safety concerns about the Nelson facility.Jensen set a new lap record at the last WERA Nelson regional round. He ran times he was comfortable running and wasn't chased by anyone. However at the National, he ...
