Official 2007 Schedules Posted
The WERA North Central and National schedules have been posted. The NC schedule doesn't pose any big surprises, but some slight changes from 2006. Autobahn and one of the Nelson Ledges events were removed, while adding Gingerman Raceway to the schedule – a nice addition.
Nashville is again on the schedule. While I don't agree with it being part of the region, it's apparently there for WERA business reasons. In looking at the Nashville results from last year, I saw about 5-6 North Central regulars that attended the event and received points. If that's enough to make it worthwhile, then so be it.
You'll see on the schedule I included a second BeaveRun date that's part of the North East region; and not on the North Central schedule. This is because that event, along with Nashville and Mid-Ohio are on back to back to back weekends (which WERA doesn't want; and I agree with that). So essentially the NC region loses the second Beaver event because of Nashville.
In the grand scheme of things, it really doesn't matter that much. This kind of stuff for whatever reason peaks me interest, so that's why I'm talking about it. It is however, likely that we will skip Nashville and head to BeaveRun again like we did last year. Beaver's a good track and a lot of fun. Plus it gives us an extra week to get ready for the Grand National Championships at Mid-O, which I'm sure we'll benefit from.
