Vacation to Ohio for a Week?
What? That's what I said to myself, but that's basically what we're doing. My dad and I are heading to Mid-Ohio Monday and Tuesday, and then Nelson Ledges Friday through Sunday. With Wednesday being the 4th of July, it almost makes sense to just stay down in Ohio for the entire week, but we'd rather not do that. We'll be coming back for a little over a day to prepare for the next WERA round, before driving back down to Ohio again; this time to Nelson Ledges.
The plan for Mid-Ohio is to figure out our tire wear issues on the highly abrasive surface present. We're shredding rear tires faster than you'd think possible. We have a list of things to try and a couple tires to throw at it. Hopefully we'll leave with a solid fix and good setting to run consistent and fast laps.
Meanwhile, Nelson Ledges is the next race on the WERA schedule. We did well there earlier in the year, but missed out on the podium in all of Sunday's races. I need better starts and need to seriously drop some more time to be able to win a race. I'm really looking forward to heading back there.
So have a good 4th of July and I'll touch base back here as soon as I can ..
