Red Bike! (Flagstar Photo Shoot)

As you can see above and from the Flickr pictures off to the right, the bike will again be red this year. It's a brighter, more vibrant red though as the idea was to get something closer to the Marlboro Ducati red, which I've recently become a fan of. We've added some orange accents to the bike, but you don't see them there, as the focus of the photo shoot was to focus on Flagstar's branding, which is red and white.

The photos were shot at a photo studio in Troy, MI. Part of the plan was that Flagstar wanted to do a photo shoot with the bike, incorporating it into their "Join the Fast Crowd" campaign. Obviously a motorcycle fits the bill when it comes to fast. One of the shots was specifically of the throttle assembly, which is one angle they wanted to translate into print marketing by "getting on the throttle". Once I get the final print ad, I'll post it up here. Other shots taken were of the bike from the side view and also from a 3/4 front/side-angled shot. They even threw me into some of the shots, I think just to laugh at me awkwardly standing in front of the camera.

Overall there were about 10 people on-hand throughout the day during the shoot. This was of course my first time being in this kind of environment, but it was pretty cool to see the attention to detail in every shot that was taken. The combination of the bike and the lighting made for some great shots and I'm hoping I can get my hands on a few of them once they're available.

Since the photo shoot, we've fully stickered the bike up and it looks pretty respectable. I don't think we've ever had so many stickers on the bike before, but I think it came out pretty good. I'll have some pictures of it up sometime next week. In the meantime, my dad and I are off to Indianapolis later today for the Indy Dealer Show and WERA awards banquet. Similar to last year, it's a great chance to catch up with friends and sponsors, while meeting a lot of new people as well.
