Monday Morning Grind
Our trip to Jennings is quickly approaching. The bike is still at Honda East and the plan is to build a baseline map for the bike this upcoming weekend. We will then pretty much have the bike ready to go for our departure the following Thursday to Florida. I'm really looking forward to getting out of the Michigan weather and into some warmer climates. It's now only about a week and a half away ..
Other than that, I've been riding the fifty and bicycle as much as possible to be ready for the first ride on the R6. This past week I've gone through a couple hour-long, pretty intense bicycle workouts (fully sweating through t-shirts and multiple towels), in the hopes that I'll be good to go come race time. I've coupled that with changing my workouts to include more core-based exercises and less upper body-strengthening exercises. I'll be riding the bicycle at home every night this week, along with two more of the "intense" workouts, coupled with riding the fifty one night this week. It's sort of funny with the fifty. I fully mount my transponder to it, setup the timing beacon, and track all my laps. Crazy as it sounds, it can get boring doing lap after lap on an under 30-second track, so this helps keep me focused on what I'm doing. The goal this week is to get into the 26's going in the counter-clockwise direction.
That's all I've got for now ..
Cheers,
- eddie
