Not So Nice Nashville
Well for those who haven't heard, Nashville started off great, and ended hard. I broke my collarbone in several places in practice on Sunday, trying to scrub in a new tire. We had just come off a win in Saturday's 20-lap solo race – my first win on the new bike (in it's first race no less). As if that wasn't a good start on Saturday, my dad won his race as well; in his first race back in nearly four years since last racing. How quickly things can change however.
Overall, the bike was awesome and the team effort we had was nothing short of spectacular (honestly). We were so dialed in together between my dad, Doug and I … we made changes, improved the bike and consistently went faster each time out. We did 4's comfortably on Saturday with a still-damp track and old tires. With new tires on Sunday, we would have been in the low 4's before practice was over. My personal goal was mid to low-3's in the race. We were the fastest team there through Saturday and could have won all 4 races on Sunday – 750 classes included. Unfortunately the script changed, which is all part of the game. We'll bounce back ..
I'm in a sling and looking to get into surgery as soon as possible right now ..

Ed,
This is horrible news. Are you out for the entire season? is this the same shoulder you injured before?
Congrats to your Dad!!!! So does this mean there still is hope for me??
Eric
Oh Ed, sorry to hear of your unfortunate accident. We may have to hook u up with some bionic parts here soon!:)
Nevertheless.. congrats to you and Joe for your wins!!
Thanks guys. Yeah Eric – same shoulder as before unfortunately. Hopefully not out the entire season, but we’ll see ..
The kids are already counting on a fall Mid-Ohio trip, it tradition already. So you better heal up quickly. Also the problem is with only one arm you STILL would most likely beat me at K2K…
See ya
That’s the plan .. I’ll be riding at Mid-O if I have to get a bionic arm for the weekend!
How ya feelin? What’s the progn?
Feeling okay. Surgery was Friday night and the collarbone was broken in 6 places. Fixed it up, put a plate on it and bandaged me up. I’m on the good pain meds right now and get to pull the bandages off tonight to see what the incision looks like. I think it’ll be a sweet scar. :)
Eddie sorry to hear the news. Kepp your head up sounds like you guys where headed in the right direction.
Hey Chris – Yeah things were definitely heading that way .. minor setback I suppose ..
