Monday Morning Grind – Gingerman Summary
I couldn't stay away. Eric (Johnston) and I headed up to Gingerman Sunday morning and surprised my parents, having the pits setup before they got there. As painful as it is to watch guys I should be racing with, it was equally painful not being part of the team, so we made a day trip of it. Joe did well overall. A 4th, 3rd and a 2nd to his credit. After winning a couple races already though, he was a bit disappointed in the results. Evidently the apple doesn't fall far from the tree ..
It was a carnage-like day otherwise. Lots of crashes and a couple blown motors. Great weather but the scenery in the paddock of broken and damaged machinery was extensive. One of the blown motors was from a 600 with a known-to-be illegal motor, so I think karma may have played a role there ..
X-rays are still scheduled for Thursday where I'll find out if I can ride at BeaveRun. PT three times this week and hitting the gym separately as well. I've got to get myself back into race shape ASAP.
