Gingerman in 07?
Yes I think so finally. In talking to a credible source this past weekend, WERA has plans to get at least one Gingerman date for the 2007 racing season from what I've been told. WERA tried to get a date this year, but Gingerman wasn't able to find any openings. Gingerman officials called WERA last week and had something open up, but it was too late by that point to add another date to the already finalized schedule.
So hopefully things will work out with Gingerman next year. I've often thought that WERA North Central attendance numbers would be higher if WERA went to both Grattan and Gingerman. Back in the days of GLRRA (which ran primarily at those two tracks), numbers on the grid were packed, and I think when GLRRA folded, half the riders went with WERA (those who were close to Grattan) and the other half went to CCS (those who were close to Gingerman). Neither CCS nor WERA have been able to get both tracks on their schedule, so I think if WERA can do that now it will definitely be a good thing. Not to mention another good track to race at, in the very tourist-friendly city of South Haven.
