Updates, Indy Expo and OTT
The past couple of weeks we've been working on some minor things with the bike. We replaced the missing fuel injector vent cap that had plagued us at Jennings. We also had some additional captive spacers made for the wheels so we have two sets for both front and rear. I still need to get a second front wheel and once I have that, we'll be good to go in that regard. Other stuff includes bleeding the brakes, new brake pads, mounting up the second set of bodywork and a few other odds and ends. The bike still has to be stickered up and I'm trying to come up with a good way to differentiate the bike from how it looked last year ..
There's been some good news on the sponsorship front. NGK spark plugs is a new sponsor for 2009 and will be providing us with their high-end plugs for the duration of the season. Flagstar Bank is back on board this year as well, which I'm extremely happy about – especially considering the current state of the economy. I'll have more info on both of these sponsors, as well as the updated schedule and sponsor list soon. I've been working on updates to the site which will be up and running in the next couple of weeks. We are also working with Evol Technologies on some special new laptimer brackets that should be nice to have on the bike.
Other than that, my dad, Doug and I are off to Indy this weekend for the Indianapolis Dealer Expo. This has always been a great networking opportunity with just about everyone in the industry. We can talk to nearly all of our existing sponsors who we don't get to talk to in person much during the year. There are always new and familiar faces, and it has always been a worthwhile trip. Doug has been eager to go since last year and I think he's giddy with excitement going this time around. My dad and I have been trying to prepare him that it's an all-day, on-your-feet affair, followed by a long night afterwards downtown with more socializing and "networking". We've advised him on lots of caffeine. We'll see if he can survive it ..
Lastly, if you haven't heard of OnTheThrottle.TV, it's well worth a look. They do video production work at all the AMA events, as well as select WERA races. This past season they were at the WERA Grattan National and captured some awesome footage of the Formula 2 race – a race Joe won in convincing fashion. The coverage is great and I hope there's more OTT coverage in the WERA scene in the coming year. Look for the red SV leading into T1 …
Cheers,
eddie

Giddy am I?… yup, I admit it. I’ve been to the show twice years ago… kinda scammed my way in. This time we’re legit thanks to Tom. Thanks loads Tom.
The lovely and talented m.c.design, inc. has provided some WK shirts to hand out to your other industry sponsors this weekend.
I’ve got my 4 pack of Redbull at the ready and if you find any unfinished cans laying around, help your self. : )
We’re gonna have a good time, no doubt about that .. I’ll definitely take a Red Bull (or two) .. :)
I finally got to watch the F2 race that Joe checked out on. We miss so much watching from the front straight at Grattan. Double A Ron looked outstanding during that race on his well used Gen I SV. He would be really fast on a WitchKraft Racing prepared bike with the usual nearly unlimited budget. : )
The Expert 600 SS race was instructive too. R. Jensen’s bike handles Grattans surface really well. Josh Day was really fast and strong.
The 600 race was good to watch .. it showed how slow I was after coming back from the injury last year .. and that that I needed to go faster just about everywhere …
