Monday Morning (Afternoon) Grind
Well the team concept is in full effect here. Under a big time crunch to have the bike ready for yesterday's visit to Grattan, James did a ton of work to get the R6 back from it's previous state of being completely apart down to the bare frame. My dad was a big help as well, as we both went down to the shop Wednesday and worked on the bike until around 11:30pm. Thanks again to both of them in making things come together so quickly and professionally-done.
As for our visit to Grattan yesterday, it went really well. We didn't get a lot of laps in the morning sessions (due to red flags in the sessions by others crashing), but the times started to drop in the afternoon and the R6 (I still need to give her a name, just saying "R6" is getting old) felt as good as it ever has around Grattan. The setup was near perfect and reminded me of my more dominant days on the SV650. My dad got to ride as well, borrowing my brother's 2001 GSXR-600, which put a smile on his face all day long. Especially because he hadn't ridden on the track since 2004.
We're going to try to get out at least one more time before the Grattan race at the end of the month. The R6 (any suggestions for a name would be appreciated) needs to visit James again for some final tweaking, but other than that we're looking good right now.
Cheers,
- eddie
