Quote of the Day
If you’ve ever visited the Witchkraft Racing site, you can see that there’s a random quote that displays on every page. I’ve always liked the quotes – it adds perspective from different people, on different things, usually within the racing community. Anyway, the first quote here to get the section going is from Valentino Rossi’s new book, “What If I Had Never Tried It.” I just started reading it last night and am already finding it hard to put down.Â
 “That’s the moment of clarity. You can tell people you fell because the bike didn’t follow the trajectory it was supposed to follow, or tell them that you’re actually really fast, but the bike simply isn’t. Inside you, however, you know the truth. You know you fell off because you made a mistake, or because your opponent is simply faster than you. And the opposite is also true. Deep down, you know whether your victories were deserved. You know if you won races on the turns, when it’s down to your ability as a rider, or on the straightaways, when it’s all about the power of the engine. You know others are looking to make excuses when they say you beat them because the bike was better.”
Excuses .. everyone has them, for just about anything …
