Pre-Race Weekend Prep Checklist
… Let's see what needs to be done between tonight and tomorrow night to get the R6 ready for this weekends' races at Grattan. I'm trying to plan this around *not* doing any of the below on Thursday, as it always seems we somehow are working/packing up something the night before we leave for the track. This generally results in a lack of sleep and increase in stress (albeit minor, unless we're putting a motor back in or something crazy) to get things ready. In any event, here goes:
- Wash bike (it's dirty)
- Change oil
- Swap sprocket/sprocket carrier
- Swap rear brake disc
- Replace countershaft sprocket (we actually broke a tooth off it in the endurance race – something I've never seen before)
- Clean air filter
- Check over bike in general making sure nothing came loose during the 3-hour stint the bike just went through
- Make James' recommended suspension adjustments (for going faster)
- Clean/prep trailer
- Get race gas
- Hit Costco (Gatorade, Red Bull (check, already got it), V8, water, a few adult beverages, and power bars)
- Pack for the weekend
It may not seem like much (or it might depending if you're a racer and know how things always take longer than you initially think), but fitting that into a work week crammed with extra hours so we can be at the track for Friday practice always makes for a busy week leading up to racing.
