Second Bits
More parts have arrived in preparation of the new bike. The latest batch has come courtesy of Dynojet. The bits include a Power Commander V, Quickshifter and Dynojet's recent AutoTune piece.
We've gone from using the PCIII to the latest PCV, which has some new features; one of the main ones being that it can be tied into the AutoTune piece. The AutoTune will fine-tune the map on the bike at every event, based on current conditions – temperature, altitude, etc. It could write a new map each time it's used if necessary, but for our purposes we will have the baseline map written at Honda East and tweak from there. We will then let the AutoTune adjust at each event – specifically when it's colder or hotter than normal – ideally giving us an engine that runs optimally every time we hit the track. It's pretty cool and based on the feedback I've received from some teams that have already used it, it works quite well.
Lastly is the Quick Shifter. It's now a bit smaller physically, as is the PCV compared to the older PCIII model. It can tie into the bike a number of ways and is always a piece I like to use.
If you're shopping for Christmas, let me know. All the parts are available through Honda East and you can get them at a stellar price before the holidays.
Cheers,
- eddie
