No VIR? No problem.
As for the bike, Joe, Doug and I spent a good 10-12 hours last Saturday working on it. Not going to VIR was disappointing, but it sounds like we avoided some of the crashes that happened on a spring-like, green track in this first race weekend of the season (it wasn't an official round for us, but one we wanted to hit to shakedown the new bike). Thoughts out to Jonas who got caught up in a T1 crash that wasn't his fault and fractured his hip. He and Aaron went down there and I'm sure Aaron needed quite a bit of Red Bull and/or coffee to make the 12-hour drive back solo to get them home.
This weekend will be another busy one. Wrobel is coming up Saturday with his bikes so we can get them matching to "team spec". Doug and Aaron are coming up again to lend a hand, which is much appreciated. I'm going insane getting different stickers made trying to find a look I like with this new paint scheme we have. Good times. Not really. I'm about to torch all this vinyl.
Oh, and here's my new lid for the season. It's the Haga replica. It's a special helmet in a sense, because the Haga was the first helmet I bought and raced with years ago. It was a different design, but had a similar theme. I went on to do pretty well that year with the helmet. This latest Haga was always one I wanted, but didn't because the design had his number (41) on the sides. Through some graphic "craftiness", I've changed the number to one that's more fitting. I think it came out pretty good.
Cheers.

Very cool lid. I’ve always admired the Haga design in all their variations. Still got the “Hayes” lid? That one would be a big departure.
Nice lid, Haga’s and Hayes are my farorites well I like my Ago rep too.
Get well soon Jonas! Aaron is a life saver, its always nice to have some one like him at the track.
I swapped out the Hayes for the Haga, so just the one there, plus my backup helmet that I used last year.
Yeah Nick – Aaron is a life saver. It’s always great to have him at the track.
That stinks about Jonas… Hope he heals up quick.
I’m hijacking the thread – I just watched the photo steam under the Gallary tab…That Kovak fella (Mr. Snapper) is really good and all the other pix are exceptional. The photos hit home for me. It is good to refresh my memories. This racing thing we are into is fantastic. More please.
It does stink. Wrong place, wrong time. One of those racing incidents.
Good call Doug. Couldn’t agree more. :)
