Saturday Recap From Nelson
We're here at the Holiday Inn near Nelson Ledges after a good outing today in the Middleweight Solo 20 race. My dad and I have been here since Friday working on getting faster and things are going well so far. With a previous fast lap of 1:11.7 during the last race weekend here a couple months ago, we were able to really drop in some quicker laps, setting a best lap of a 1:10.1 in today's race.
So far it's been a combination of the bike handling a bit better and some improved riding. My dad and I did a track walk after Friday's practice and were able to find a few spots where we thought I could go faster. The results showed today with a 4th place finish in the 20-lap race. I had a decent start and passed a couple guys early on. I passed a few more guys as the race progressed and ended up doing a bunch of consistent 10's, which was the fastest I've gone yet around Nelson Ledges.
The plan tomorrow is to try and get into the 9's and see how far we can go from there. I'll have an update of tomorrow's races coming soon ..
Thanks for reading,
- Eddie
