Range of Motion
Heading into this weekend's last race at Nelson Ledges, I had hoped I'd be ready to ride. The truth of the matter is I simply won't be. The wrist just doesn't bend, as shown by the above photo. That is how much range I have when trying to twist my wrist like you would twisting the throttle. It's not like I've been sitting on a bike nearly every day working to twist the throttle .. that'd be crazy.
The doctor's say this is the last range of motion to come back. Perfect. I've been wearing a dyna-splint, which is essentially a torture contraption meant to bend the wrist back. It works, sort of – in a nasty, evil sort of way. Very pleasant for sure …
Nonetheless, we'll be at Nelson Ledges this weekend. Dad is having hip surgery later this morning and will be in the hospital through Friday, so he likely won't be making the trip, but we'll have the rest of the team out in action. It'll be a good time.
Cheers,
eddie

You never turn the throttle much more than that any how….
What happened to Dad?
Hope all is well
He had two knee surgeries (minor) at the beginning of the summer. Apparently they were masking some major hip issues because as soon as the knees were good, his one side got exponentially worse in no time. Cane, couldn’t walk, lots of pain pills, the whole nine yards.
Surgery went well on Wedneday. He’s in the hospital unti Friday. Has started PT and should hopefully be good as new soon.
