Monday Morning Grind
Wow, what an X Games over the weekend. I haven't been a huge X fan in the past, but once I happened to catch Pastrana's double backflip early in the weekend, I was glued to the television, especially on Sunday.
I thought all the events were great – the BMX and skateboarding stuff was cool. The newly added rally car racing (with the likes of Pastrana and Colin McRae) was a nice addition. Although the SuperMoto race was tops of the weekend for me. I thought the race was awesome. The camera footage, the big names, the track, the added strategy/complexity of a pit stop thrown into the mix. And the finish of the race just happened to come down to the last lap. Very cool. I definitely wouldn't mind getting into SuperMoto racing sometime down the road.
Also on Sunday were the AMA Superbike races from Mid-Ohio. Spies cleaned up. (Jason) Pridmore did really well in the second race, beating out some of the factory guys. I tried to pay attention to whatever I could, in hopes of learning something for when we go there in September.

yeh, the double-back flip was nuts, bmx was great, skateboarding was good, but the rally car stuff was the best (2nd to the Pastrana’s back flip). supermoto!?!? stick to road racing, kid!
