The Ides of Winter

So what's new .. not too much. It's winter – a rather mild winter so far which is good if you ask me. The weather forecast had mid 40's yesterday so a buddy of mine and I did a nice pedal outside which was a good ride with our cool-weather gear on. The next couple days looked cold and snowy, which helped push us to get out there and mash on the pedals before the salt trucks were out in full effect .

Bike preparations are a bit stagnant right now, mainly because we're stuck waiting to get the new bike. There are some things to get squared away first and it's taking longer than expected to get everything cleared from last year, before moving ahead with this season. It's a bit out of my hands, but at least parts are coming in for the new bike and once she's here, we should have just about everything we need to make a race bike out of her. Honda East is on board again and ready to go this season which is great. They really are the driving effort behind the team and I'm extremely happy and proud to be working with them, now heading into our fifth year together. And while Tom (Beagle) isn't with Honda East today, he was the main factor in bringing things together in the beginning – something I always look back and remember.

The wrist situation is the same. No new news on a donor, but I'm going to ride whether the surgery happens or not before the season gets underway. It's a new year with a fresh outlook on things. I'll figure a way to make it work. Other than that, we should have news on a new sponsor partnership this year which I'm excited about. Stay tuned ..
