Preparations for Mid-Ohio 2013
We're getting ready for Mid-Ohio next week, as dad, Aaron and myself will be racing there Wednesday and Thursday for WERA's double-header event The AMA is there this upcoming weekend and WERA will be following up after them.
The above photo is back from 2007 when we were there for the AMA/WERA Roadrace Grand National Championships, which was an awesome event. That weekend was the fastest I've ever gone around Mid-Ohio – too long ago, if you ask me. That's Mexican Champ Nik VonMatt on the right. Nik drove with us to most of the races that season – it was his first year on a 600 and he became quite fast on it.
As for the bike, we're doing some maintenance-type things before leaving, but aside from anything major we should be ready to go. I'm looking forward to racing at Mid-O again. Even though it's been awhile, I've always loved the track layout. I'll have some work to do, as there will be a bunch of fast riders there. I've got to find time and get back where I was around the place. I'm looking forward to some fun and close racing – hopefully in the lead pack.
